Erika Atwood, L.C.M.T.

Erika graduated from CI-MTI in 2005 and holds a Bachelor's from Emerson College but began as a dancer at the University of Michigan which fed her interest in movement and the human body.

She uses a variety of techniques, integrating her training in Muscular Therapy, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Massage, Sports Massage and other bodywork techniques to design a treatment that is best suited for the client. She also seeks to connect the physical self with the mind to create a relaxing and holistic experience. Erika is available for appointments Wednesdays and Fridays.   [back to top]


Robery Canty, Certified Shiatsu Practitioner
Robert ("Bobby") is a graduate of the Charles River Institute and has been teaching Eastern movements systems in the Boston, Cambridge area since 1975. He is the founder and director of the Kids Karate program in Jamaica Plain and The Goju Group, a non profit that operates breathing and movement programs for senior groups at several Boston locations.

Bobby's sessions integrate components from these varied movement disciplines with traditional acupressure therapy techniques to treat specific problem areas while revitalizing the entire being, promoting mind-body awareness and allowing space for healing to occur. Bobby is available for appointments Thursdays and Saturdays.

Jennifer Green, L.C.M.T.
Jennifer graduated from CI-MTI in 2004 and holds a B.A. in Art History from Bates College. Additionally, Jennifer has a background in modern and improvisational dance, which enhances her massage training and understanding of the body. She constructs individualized treatment plans for her clients using a blend of bodywork techniques including Muscular Therapy, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release and Sports Massage. Kathy Herman, L.C.M.T.
Kathy graduated from CI-MTI in 2005 after a career in the high-tech industry. She also holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College. An avid horsewoman, she discovered the power of massage while rehabilitating an injured horse and now divides her practice between horses and humans. She has worked in spas, provided sports massage at the Boston Marathon and is currently pursuing her interest in Reflexology.

Kathy works to relieve chronic pain and tension whether from everyday stress, injury or compensation patterns. She will use a combination of gentle, specific deep-tissue work, sports massage, myofascial release and relaxation techniques. Her goal for each massage is to reduce the ache and pain of stressed muscles, improve mobility and allow for a sense of ease and well-being within the body. Dawn Slack, L.C.M.T.
Dawn's inspiration is Women's Health, and in the connections between mind and body. Her approach is gentle and compassionate, and she seeks to create a sense of calm nurturance in sessions. She draws from both her extensive training as well as intuition, incorporating into sessions varying degrees of pressure--from very light to deep and specific, myofascial release, gentle stretching, and breath and energy work. She works with clients to understand and address issues of chronic tension in the body, encouraging client empowerment and self-care between sessions.

She received training in the Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy at CI-MTI; additionally, she holds a BA in Women's Studies from UMass/Boston. She is a professional member of the Multiservice Eating Disorders Association and the AMTA. Dawn is available for appointments Mondays and Saturdays.   [back to top]

Meg Taylor, L.C.M.T.
Meg is a graduate of CI-MTI and comes to massage from a career in customer service. Her many years spent behind a desk fuels her desire to interact with people on a more personal and meaningful level.

Integrating a variety of techniques, including Muscular Therapy, Swedish Massage and Myofascial Release, Meg strives to find the right combinations to address the specific needs of her clients. Also a great believer in the power of the mind-body connection, Meg seeks to encourage this connection in her sessions and in her daily life. Outside of work, Meg can be found enjoying a number of activities, from crafty/creative events to pickup games of frisbee. Susan is a 2003 graduate from the Cortiva Institute - Muscular Therapy lnstitute (CI-MTl), formerly the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA, and also holds a B.S.E. in Computer Science from Princeton University. While still managing the day-to-day operations of the business, as a therapist, Susan is currently on sabbatical through 2009, working with current clients to find the most appropriate referral.   [back to top]
